Projects on Cyber Security
Establishment of Cybersecurity Lab and Network Security Project:
Objective: This project seeks to provide beginners with an introduction into the practical aspects of setting up and implementing basic network security measures in a cybersecurity laboratory environment.
Project Description: Students can construct a small-scale cybersecurity lab by using virtual machines (VMs) or low-cost hardware, installing and configuring different operating systems and network devices in this environment, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems and basic access controls. Students will explore common security risks while discovering ways to mitigate them in a safe setting.
Cybersecurity Awareness and Training Program:
Objectives: This project seeks to raise cybersecurity awareness among non-technical users such as employees in an organization or students at school.
Project Description: Students can create and implement a cybersecurity awareness program which includes training materials, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Students will design informative presentations, videos, pamphlets and pamphlet campaigns that educate non-technical users on common threats such as phishing, malware and password security threats. Furthermore, simulation phishing exercises may also be conducted to assess knowledge and vigilance levels among target audiences. This real world project helps students understand both human elements of cybersecurity as well as best practices which promote it.
